Tracking technology is constantly evolving, and our devices are built to leverage the best solutions available today. Radiobell uses technologies such as GSM (2G), LTE-M, NB-IoT and LoRaWAN to ensure stable and reliable communication. Radiobell comes standard with coverage from Telenor, but we can also offer units with Telia coverage on request.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to what people ask us about.

Some animals stay calm for more than three hours, which can lead to false alarms. If you receive such an alarm, you should wait another three hours to see if it comes again. If no new message arrives, there's a good chance it was a false alarm.

In the user portal, you can adjust the number of hours the unit must remain at rest before an alarm is triggered, as well as the number of reports/meters in the calculation of the minimum movement alarm.

Right after collection, you should clean the Radiobells with a cloth or wet wipe, without removing the battery plug. Then store them dry, at room temperature, and without the battery plug.

Also clean the battery plugs and ensure the o-ring is clean and in good condition. For GEN4/4+, plugs must be replaced before each season — these are included with the purchase of battery and subscription. New o-rings and plugs can be purchased in the shop.

If you don't need the tracking information, terminals should be deleted after the season. Note: The information cannot be retrieved once the terminal has been deleted.

Go to "Herd" and "Herd list" in the menu on the left in the user portal. In the herd list, check off the individuals you want to delete.

Click "Delete" at the bottom of the page, and enter the reason and any comment.

Changes in update frequency only take effect when the terminal is in contact with the server. If the terminal is set to report every 24 hours and you change it to every hour, this will only change 24 hours after the last report.

There are usually two possible reasons:

1. The Radiobell is outside mobile coverage at the moment it should report.

2. If the Radiobell does not get a valid position, only the last valid position will be displayed. Go to "Herd", click on the Telespor number, and select "Show history". If it shows 0 under "Position valid", it has not received a valid position. This can happen if the animal is near a rock face, building wall, dense forest, or similar.

Generation 2 and 3 of the Radiobell use the 2G network and are affected by the planned shutdown. These collars use 2G coverage from both Telenor and Telia.

Telenor originally announced shutdown in 2025, but has postponed this to 2027. Telia is proceeding with shutdown in 2025. Telenor and Telia have partially overlapping coverage, which will result in reduced coverage in 2025.

Generation 4 and 4+ use LTE-M and NB-IoT and are not affected.

Radiobell uses several network technologies depending on the generation: GSM (2G), LTE-M, NB-IoT and LoRaWAN. Each technology has its strengths, and the choice depends on your needs and challenges in daily operations.

Generation 4 and 4+ use modern IoT networks (LTE-M and NB-IoT) which provide better coverage in outfields and lower power consumption. Radiobell comes standard with coverage from Telenor, but can also be ordered with Telia coverage on request.

Radiobell and accessories such as batteries, plugs and o-rings are purchased in our shop. For larger orders and grazing groups, you can also request a tailored quote by contacting us directly.

When purchasing a seasonal subscription for GEN4/4+, new battery plugs are included. These must be replaced before each season. The subscription also includes access to the user portal and data traffic for tracking.

Yes, Radiobell comes standard with coverage from Telenor, but we also offer units with Telia coverage on request. Contact us if you want to consider this for your area.
